Artist Statement🌱
I am a transdisciplinary artist navigating the world through a wide range of practices from analog craft to digital performance. The diverse flow of mediums allows me to understand and interact with the nuance between reality and fantasy. Each pathway of exploration guides me through the interdimensions of time, space, inner psyche, and collective consciousness.
The focus of my physical craft is to upcycle found objects and materials in an attempt to mitigate the environmental impact of human consumption. Trinkets, clothing scraps, and various other ephemera from my daily life embedded with mundane memories are transformed into archival renditions of my thought processes. My interest in performance is rooted in legacies of queer expression such as drag and music, primarily informed by my lived experience as a trans person.
As an autistic person, I have often struggled to communicate verbally throughout my life. Art is a crucial form of communication for me. My primary goal with my work is to meaningfully connect with others via the imaginative forms I manifest throughout my creative practices. Visualization through physical objects helps me to stay grounded in a foundation of my sense of self. Play in performance bridges the gap in my social differences.
